The Riders

Jake, Ben, Peter and Myself

It was a 9am meeting at my house sought out riding gear, tie down bags then onto the X-Centre for B.F.K.

At the X-Centre we where to meet the Muppet, Honda Honky. The Honky was of thought to have settled a little from his
Adrenalin rushing whiskey throttle ways, his earlier conquest of taking riding buddies down had earned him the alias "The
Assassin" but Honda Honky had not been involved in a incident for a least 6 months now and it seemed The Assassin was giving
up his hit man ways, little did i know.
Belly's full and ready to rumble the five of us exited The X-Centre and headed north on the backroads to Chiang Dao

beautiful Tea Farms but the shaded area of the cement roads could be slick with green moss as Pete can witness too, and
he wasnt the only one in full concentration

the could thing about the motard was there was minimal damage revision mirror snapped of and a scratched side panel, but
Big Ole Pete was still smiling.
From Chiang Dao we made our way up hwy107 the turned left and made our way up the mountains to Sinchai, then we followed
the Thai/Burmese border to Thaton.

The Assassin Honda Honky looking like he means business

Jake

Benny getting harassed for a sale

Pete filling with benziene

Thai army camp at Nor Lae looking at the Burmese fortress

this weapon is aimed at Burmese soldier camp no more than 50m away

the fox holes

for me coming from a country only bordered by sea all these armies are awesome to see

The roads around Pha Hom Phok are a little treacherous at this time, with fallen trees washouts and some big buffalo poo's
but the biggest treachery was The Assassin details to follow.

Jake with a M4 carbine

sorry for the blury pic but all my road pics came out this way, maybe time to upgrade the camera

this night we stayed over at Fang, Pete being the generous sole that he
is shouted the boys a bottle of fine whiskey,

the staff at the restaurant we ate didn't seem to speak anymore than 3 words of English, that's why i found the shirts hilarious.
if you cant read the purple shirt is says "i belong to Jesus"

this is Anni the reception at the Phumanee Hotel, every time the muppets call through Fang they fill Anni up with stories about me,
so when i arrive traveling with a group, i get questions like "how can you walk with a broken leg" " you shouldn't smoke so much and
do
that on the balcony" needless to say the poor girl is a little confused now days. those muppets are evil at times

At the Golden triangle.
The next 2 days i accumulate about 4 pictures 2 worth showing so im sorry for lack of photo's. From Fang we rode to Mai sai the
most northerly point in Thailand across to the Golden Triangle and the Mekong River then we followed the Kok River to sleep in
Chiang Rai. On the arise of the next day it was hwy 109 over to Chai Praikan which by the way has a lot of loose gravel at this
time and requires tons of concentration, then hwy 1346, hwy 1150, hwy 107 back to Chiang Mai.
In 3 days of riding we could count the number of rain drops that touched us, unbelievable we would have had 95% dry roads as well
Well Pete is of to Laos now for a 9 day trip that Jimoi has set up for him, you wouldnt find a nicer more decent friendlier
bloke than Pete, so if any one comes across a giant of a man riding a Honda transalp dont be afraid it will be Big Ole Pete,

Now we just come to the little Point of "The Assassin"

there does seem to be a resemblance here with Dick Dastardly

It Seems The Assassin is back and hes is working more dastardly than ever. After hearing i had adopted the name of Trail boss
The Assassin used all his cowboy skills to unleash hell on the Trail Boss, his first efforts where to ride slowly into a pack of pony's grazing
on the side of the road open the red beast to full throttle and put the pony's into flight running in every direction not once but twice
did he try this take out maneuver. growing up around horses i pre read his plott and was able to react in time to dodge the flying pharlaps

As this had failed the Assassins next endeavor was to make a handle bar catching lasso loop from his pack on the bike, he must have
realised i ride a bike with a extra 30mm solid steal tip after the hand grip to reduce vibration.
the tactic was to then engage in a jostling match with me, kind of suck me in close for the setup, then roar away with his 70 odd
H.P. of power lassoing my handle bar with his luggage dragging the Trail Boss, my suzuki acted much like a steer having its neck twisted
to bring it to the ground

So beware fello riders as you to maybe on the victims list
